Singalong in The Archbishop's Courtyard with SKRUK

Welcome to a pleasant evening singalong with evocative music.

One of the most traditional events during Olav’s Festival is the annual psalm evening in The Archbishop’s Courtyard. This year the singing will be even more central. On stage will be the highly merited choir SKRUK under the direction of Per Oddvar Hildre with a programme of psalms and songs selected especially with communal singing in mind.

The choir SKRUK is based in Sunnmøre, but has members from all over Norway. Conductor Per Oddvar «Prots» Hildre has lead the choir for over forty years. Since it started in 1973, the choir has made almost thirty albums.

The choir has worked with musicians and artists such as Henning Sommerro and Vårsøg, Ytre Suløens Jazzensemble, Rim Banna and Katia Cardenal. It has had close collaboration with the record company Kirkelig Kulturverksted and director Erik Hillestad, and is renowned for taking part in projects which cross culture and genre boundaries.
